Toddler Crayons

So this has been all around pinterest and blog land.
One of the blogs I follow Mrs. Mommy did this with her daughter a few weeks ago and made me really want to make some for Hudson. He loves to color and this was the perfect craft for us to do together.

*lean from my mistake. Spring for crayola, don't buy the cheap crayons. They are nearly impossible to remover the paper, even after soaking them in warm water*
**also, don't mind my pictures. They are all from my phone :/**

All ready to make some toddler crayon disks!

We put them in warm water to help get the paper off. You know something is wrong when crayola crayons sink, but the cheap brand floats!

Broke up all the crayons and put them in cupcake pans. Most are color coordinated, a couple I let Hudson put whatever colors he wanted to.

I put them in the oven at 250 for about 15 minutes, until all the crayons are melted.

I let them cool over night, and this is the end result.

They were a big hit!

So far he loves these. They are a little harder for him to put in his mouth which is a giant plus! This was a great activity, and so fun! These would even be a fun homemade gift.

  1. Hi Lacie - Came across your blog a couple weeks ago and have been reading and following your posts! I LOVE finding other bloggers with little guys about the same age as mine. Hudson is such an adorable little guy and I look forward to all the fun ideas you will share here!
