Wanna Button Swap?

who wants to button swap?

I did this a while back and it was a great success.
Then life happened.
Between moving in with my in-laws and saving for a house, getting a new schedule at work, working two jobs with a brand new baby & not having internet for a few months my blog sat on the back burner.
Sadly, it was neglected.

After a while I really started to miss it, to be honest the whole time I missed blogging.
This is my one place to share with others, my outlet if you will.
I don't journal [as much as I wish I did] so this is the next best thing.

Now that were in our house, were getting more and more set with our routine.
I have been getting back into the blog routine and I must say I love it.

I know my blog isn't big, that's not my intention for this blog either.
But it is pretty awesome getting comments from other bloggers, connecting in a way only imaginable with today's technology.
Its like a big get together with all your best gal pals to gossip and just talk about anything and everything your passionate about [for me....my son :)].

So, on to what this post is really about...button swappin'.
I have a cute little button for my blog over on the right hand side ---->>>
The whole idea [which im positive you already know ;) but just in case] is you put my button on your blog, and ill add your button on mine!

Its totally free, and just a way for everyone to find other awesome bloggers.
Because, frankly that's usually how I meet/follow new blogs is by blog hopping from one blog to another.

So, if your interested leave me a comment if there is a button on your page, or you can email me imsimplymomma[at]gmail[dot]com

buttons are super easy to make by the way, I made mine using picmonkey :]

18 month old

I need to stop blinking!! I can not believe my little guy turned 18 months yesterday. It really blows my mind. I have to say I LOVE Hudson's half birthday. It lands on a big state holiday (the 24th of July is Pioneer Day) here in Utah. I swear its bigger then the 4th I kid you not! Everyone always says the 4th is just the practice holiday. We basically celebrate the same, fun parades, BBQ's, and Fireworks. One of my favorites is that there is no gift giving! Just lots of family and fun. We enjoyed our morning off and didn't make it to the parade. We did watch most of it on TV though. We went to my parents and had a little BBQ and made s'mores. Hudson loved it, it was his first one. Then later that evening we had another BBQ with our super awesome new neighbors. It was great fun!

Now, on to this little mans official 18 month post!

STATS:
Weight: 22.5 lbs (home scale)
Height: 32.5 inches (measured at home)
[ill do the officials after your check up]
Teeth: 7, 4 on top and 3 on bottom
Diaper: 4
Clothes: 18 month, 24 month jammies
Shoe: Size 5
Hair: Still my little blondie! You had another hair cut recently. You hair grows way super fast.
Eyes: blue :)
Favorite foods: Peanut butter, crackers, mac & cheese
Favorite toys:  Cars, cars, cars, trucks & cars. also his books, slides & basket ball hoop.
Favorite activities:  playing in the water, going down any and all slides, jumping on the trampoline, going for walks & watching Mickey Mouse

 What you've been up to:
Potty Training! I can't believe the things you do sometimes! [you can click here to read more about that]. You do really well! The other day you walked to the potty all by yourself with out even telling me! You still have some accidents and your not night trained, but your doing great!

You are talking up a storm! your a little sponge and soak up everything. You know so many things it amazes me. I couldn't even begin to say all the words you know, because I know ill forget way to many. But off the top of my head, some that you know are: Cars, trucks, Bus, Bicycle (bi-sskle), lawnmower, peanut butter (pee-a-buh-er), shoeeeesssss, light, book, ball, crackers, chalk, monkey, mine, dinosaur (die-a-soor), thank you, again, drums, bird, dog,  and many more. You are also very good at telling people NO! You know everyone's car and when you see it you will tell us if its mommas, dadas, papas, grandmas, etc. You can look at family pictures and can point out almost everyone with out us asking you. You repeat basically anything we ask you to, with HILARIOUS results.

You know lots of animal noises:
dog, cat, pig, snake, cow, sheep, monkey, tiger, dinosaurs, horse, tarzan (you beat your chest and say ahhhhh), train, car, daddy, bird.

I don't know if I have posted this yet, but as you know [click here] you have reactive air ways. We got you put on medication every day because the inhaler just wasn't cutting it. You take Singular every day and your doing AMAZING! It is night and day. You get to run to your little hearts content and almost never have a coughing fit.

Your Mr. Independent. Everything you must do by yourself.

You don't sit still. As in ever. As in I have yet to see you sit still for more then 30 seconds. It doesn't matter what your doing, your moving. You can't even sleep still, your move around all night.

You are a climber and a dare devil. You like to stand on things (like boxes and your slide). You know your not supposed to because you wait and look at me till I look at you. Then you giggle and sit down. Little STINK!

Your still obsessed with shoes. You have to have a pair on at all times.

In the car you always ask for your sunglasses if I have mine on.

Your still such a picky eater.  Mom has taken to hiding veggies in your food! For the most part you will eat almost any fruit all day long. You have a hard time eating a full meal and veggies. You literally inspect every single bite. And if it even looks funny to you, you go eww and refuse the bite. I have now taken to making fruit smoothies with spinach or carrots added. You drink the fruitable drinks. & I have found I can mix in some veggie baby food do your spaghettios, or other foods and you have no idea.

Dad is not to happy, but you hate bugs! HA, this is all my fault. You can spot even an ant from 20 yards I swear. You run over to the bug, look down and point and say EWWWWWWWWWE and then proceed to stomp on it. Those poor bugs have no chance.

Your big on coloring. You have a few coloring books and you call crayons "colors". Its adorable. Except when you excitedly grab my hand and say momma momma, color!! Then we walk over and you have drawn all over my wall :/

You take one nap a day. Its anywhere from 45 min to 1 1/2 hours. Its usually while your at grandmas and moms at work. You also sleep from about 9pm till 7am. You should sleep more kid.

Even with your lack of sleep, testing my limits, and coloring my walls I wouldn't trade it for anything. You make our lives worth living little man. We love you to the moon and back!!
passed out with his friends after swimming

dads mini me

this is how we roll at our house, pants-less

I made a sweet mess free finger paint for this little guy

Jumping on the tramp

Little does he know their is hidden spinach in that delicious smoothie!

Toddler Crayons

So this has been all around pinterest and blog land.
One of the blogs I follow Mrs. Mommy did this with her daughter a few weeks ago and made me really want to make some for Hudson. He loves to color and this was the perfect craft for us to do together.

*lean from my mistake. Spring for crayola, don't buy the cheap crayons. They are nearly impossible to remover the paper, even after soaking them in warm water*
**also, don't mind my pictures. They are all from my phone :/**

All ready to make some toddler crayon disks!

We put them in warm water to help get the paper off. You know something is wrong when crayola crayons sink, but the cheap brand floats!

Broke up all the crayons and put them in cupcake pans. Most are color coordinated, a couple I let Hudson put whatever colors he wanted to.

I put them in the oven at 250 for about 15 minutes, until all the crayons are melted.

I let them cool over night, and this is the end result.

They were a big hit!

So far he loves these. They are a little harder for him to put in his mouth which is a giant plus! This was a great activity, and so fun! These would even be a fun homemade gift.

411 Link Up

Today I am linking up with from mrs to momma on the 411 on ME!

1. How long have you been blogging? And what got you started on blogging? Has your blog changed?
I have been blogging just over a year and a half. I started blogging as my "scrapbook" and so I could make the blog books for my family. So ill always remember the little details.

2. Did you go to college? If so where, and what did you study? I went to college at Skin Works School of Advanced Skin Care, I am now a licensed Master Esthetician

3. Where have you traveled? Believe it or not I have never been on a plane. But I have been to South Dakota (mt rushmore), wyoming, arizona, Idaho, and Washington State. My favorite has to be Washington, it is SO pretty there. Plus it was the first time I saw the ocean.

4. If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy? Many things come to mind, like paying off debt, our house, buying a car, shopping spree, helping a charity....but I think the first thing I would buy would have to be a vacation. Somewhere warm, sunny, and with a beach!

5. What are your 3 biggest pet peeves? rude customer service, popping your neck, giving my child anything with out asking me first!

6. What is your favorite movie? Mulan

7. What is your drink of choice; wine, beer, or liquor. Or Water, Soda, Tea? I don't drink alcohol, so water or iced tea :)

8. What is something you enjoy to do when you have me time? read a good book, go for a walk, or listen to music and sing and make a fool of myself. However, since our son "me time" is far and few between.

9. If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, which store would it be? Target hands down. I mean, is this really a question.

10. Share with us an embarrassing moment of your past? Or present. Wow, well far to many to count. But tryin to think about some i am having a hard time coming up with one. Maybe its because they are utterly embaressing in the moment, but as life goes on you realize they werent so bad.   But one I do remember, in high school. My crush (little did I know I would marry him ;)) was picking me up for school and I fell down the stairs out side my parents house.

11. What day would you love to relive again? My wedding day. I feel like it just rushed by I was so busy. But its a day I will never forget and would love to revisit.

12. If your life was turned into a movie... what actor would play you? hmmm....Im not saying either of them looks like me, I just love them both and think it would be awesome. Jennifer Aniston, or Reese witherspoon.

13. What are the jobs you had in high school/college/the early years? I was a waitress for Dennys (6+ years), I worked at a clothing store called urban trends (about 9 months), I was a lunch lady at a middle school (yes yes...I know, I was 18 too HAHA...that one lasted about 5-6 months?), Now I am a Bank Teller.

14. Show us a picture from high school or college. This is from high school.
Tiff (my best friend) and myself being crazy

15. If you could travel anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go? Europe...Italy to be exact.

16. Show us the most current picture of you or you, or your family, or anything of meaning to you.

17. Where do you see your life 5 years from now?
I hope to be happy and healthy. If things go like I want atleast one sibling for Mr. Hudson. I hope to be working less, or possible staying home to raise our family :) I hope Tanner continues to grow in his career and it takes him exactly where he wants to be.

*Dont forget to check out my earlier post, more of our house tour!*

Home Tour: Formal living room...scratch that. Play Room

This is supposed to be our formal living room.
One day it will be.
I have visions of how it will look. With color schemes, rugs, matching accent chairs. Ah. Beautiful.
One day lacie, one day.

For know though, Hudson has taken over.
It has become his play room and I am completely ok with that. It gives him a place to roam free, but close enough for me to keep an eye on him while I am cooking, doing dishes, etc.
Also, we look like the coolest parents ever whenever someone comes over.
Truth is, we just have no furniture to fill it.
We are still young people!

Before:

After:

His slide has to be in the tent or he will freak out.

View from the door.

View from the stairs

looking in from kitchen. Hudson loves to stand on the bottom stair and jump off. He thinks he is pretty tough.

Our cute picture right when you walk in.

Love these! The picture from our wedding announcement is in the frame, and the top is a magnet board.

Hudson has fun, so I will take it this is his favorite room in the house. Mostly because the windows. He is such a creep and checks out the neighbors.

Home Tour: Hall Bathroom

This is our hall bathroom. I decided to theme this more for Hudson and the future kiddos. We went with a monster theme. A few of the wall pictures were in Hudson's room when we were living in our apartment.

A quick before

 After

I love this green. Very  bright, but my favorite.

Our towel hooks. Got it in the dollar section at good old target!

Cute mirror and frames from Ikea. Monsters from my mother in law's circuit :)

Are they not just adorable!

Not sure what else will go in here, but im sure as the little gets older & we have more kiddos it will fill up quick.

love target, got my fun shower curtain and rug there! as well as the toy basket.

Hudsons little potty!

Im very pleased with this room! Turned out way cute. I think it will definitely last threw many years.

Home Tour: Family Room

This is our family room. Or TV room. Whatever you call it, it is where we spend most of our time.
A couple things I have learned since taking these pictures.
One, this little point and shoot camera kinda stinks. I need a new super nice one. That doesn't put random orbs in my pictures. One that would actually make things look good, instead of just blah. ugh...maybe one day.
And B, my walls look so bare! I knew they were skimpy. We have only had our home a few months, and we have years to fill it up and decorate. But WOW! skimpy skimpy. This makes me wanna go out and buy some shelves stat!
Most of our furniture is hand-me-down. The tv/entertainment center was given to us by Tanners parents. I love this thing. Before we moved we had an entertainment center from Ikea. It was great till Hudson came along. Everything, and I am talking EVERYTHING was at his fingertips. Cords, Tv, Movies, Buttons, Games, PlayStation. It was a constant battle to keep him out of it. This is perfect. It keeps everything locked away so tiny humans can't get those chubby little fingers on my stuff!
The side table holding our record player and my decorative ball thingees was my moms.
It matched so she gave it to us.
The couches we got online on KSL (like craigslist)
They were practically new, and only used by a sweet older lady in her second home that she was going to sale. Score!
 I want a rug eventually.
When I find the perfect one that is.

If anyone has some ideas for the walls that would be great. The walls are just SO BIG. They fill empty I need something more to fill them in.

Here is before:

After:

How out TV normally is, open

All closed up and hidden away! bwahahah

Love my "&" pillow. 5 bucks from the clearance at Target.

Wannabe collage wall. I promise it looks so much bigger/better in person!
Also, these black pillows used to be red/yellow checkered. I found a cute no-sew way to turn them into brand new throw pillows on pinterest. Viola, they are new!

The picture says " I love the way you love me"

The bean bag [bottom left corner] is usually right in the middle of the floor as Hudson likes to run and jump into it.

Just a cute brown/black picture from I got for Christmas.
It matches perfect and is hanging by the stairs.

Well, that is our cute room. Where I am currently sitting on the laptop typing this up.
