9 months!

How bitter sweet a day! Today my little man turns 9 months old. He has now (well, almost cuz he was late haha) spent more time out in the world then in belly. I don't know why but that is hard for me!!! It makes me feel like he isn't my new little baby anymore. He has officially been in my life for 18 months!!! That is just so crazy.

He is walking and climbing on everything, babling and making 'raspberries', says dada, baba, bye bye, and sometimes mama ;) He can now sign the word milk as well! Its so exciting!

DIY Halloween Wreath

Lets just start of by saying, I still can not find my camera cord and I think im gonna cry! I have a billion pictures I wanna post!! grrr...

However, I have to post this ASAP since Halloween is just around the corner. Please excuse the pictures since a few are from my phone and the quality is bad awful. Also, im missing a few steps since they are not all on my computer, but you will get the main idea.

Now the original plan was to have the letters hanging in the middle, but that never happened so I just hot glued them on :D

Supplies: wreath, ribbon & any embellishments you may want. In my case this included wooden letters, spray paint and hot glue.

Step 1: cut the ribbon to your desired length

Step 2:
Start tying ribbon around your wreath. It helps if you make a pattern first. I didn't want a specific patter and was randomly placing ribbon. Then I was a little over half done and noticed an accidental pattern I actually loved. So I had to take nearly all the ribbon off and start over.

Step 3:
Add your embellishments
Again, sorry for the crap quality!

Im really happy at how it turned out! especially since im new to the whole crafting business!

Mothers of sons

Having a son means:

No tutu's or tea party's.
No baby dolls, princesses, glitter, or pnk.
No girl talk.
No dance or ballet.
No ribbons and bows.
No barbie and Ken, slumber party pillow fights, or ponies.

BUT

It does mean:

Dirt and rocks.
Blocks, legos, and cowboys.
superheroes.
Cars and trucks.
Sticks, mud, racing and no fear.
Toy guns and swords.
Frogs, snakes, and snails.
Soccer, baseball, bmx, and basketball.
Climbing and falling, and probably many trips to the doctor with broken bones.

AND I WOULDN'T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY

I love my crazy little man so much! I'm excited to see what life has in store for us! I love that I am his first leading lady, and he is my number one little guy!!!!!

A simple skin tip

Today's skin tip is You have to do more then just wash!

We would see this problem alot, people would come in saying "I wash my face with this every night and my skin still sucks". Well, just like you don't just brush your teeth you floss and mouth wash as well to make sure your teeth are white and healthy. The same goes for your skin.

When you only wash, your just removing the surface. The makeup/dirt/oils/debris. So once you have washed your face you haven't even touched your skin. After your face is clean, this is when you want to apply any of your treatment products (serums, masks,). If you don't have a specific treatment product, the next best thing is to just wash your face again. That way at least the ingredients of the face wash will be able to penetrate into your skin.

Also, make sure you are washing your face a minimum of two times a day. Once in the morning to clean off any dirt oils and sweat from the night before. And so you have a fresh surface to apply makeup onto. And another at night to clean off makeup and everything from the day. Also, it's a good idea to wash after any activity that makes you sweaty, such as going for a run, or any activity that exposes your face to certain chemicals, like chlorine when swimming.

Remember, my skin tips are little things iv'e learned in school and after. I will always try to give simple tips that will cost very little to nothing. Just things you can incorporate into your daily life to help your skin. Of course there are great products and treatments you can get, however most of those require a bit more money and maintenance. I may share some of those one day, just not for now.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for my jobs!

I know, I never thought I would say that either.

But in all honesty I am truly grateful that, especially in this economy, I have a job to help provide for my family. As much as I would give anything to be a stay at home momma to my baby boy, that just isn't a possibility for us right now. My jobs are fun and relatively easy so I can't complain. Working at a bank is great. We are a slow branch, and pretty new still. I get lots of reading done that is for sure :D But my manager is amazing. He is honestly the best boss I think I have ever had! He makes work so much fun, but knows how to get the job done as well. I'm also a waitress. Waitressing was my first job at 16 and I'm still there one day a week. This job is highly stressful. I will say you learn that some people are just not nice at all. I have encountered customers that I just don't understand how they could be so rude to someone you don't know, At that persons place of work. I have cried from a customer on more then one occasion and almost quit a dozen times. I feel like certain people look down on you, and they treat you like scum basically. And act like your job has no meaning. Sometimes I just wanna ask someone where they work so I can go and treat them like they treat me so they see how it is. But threw it all, their are those amazing people you meet. They are so nice, and brighten my day and I love when I can brighten someone's day as well. I think waitressing should be a mandatory class in high school or college or something. You learn so many life long skills. Multi tasking, Humility, You learn that you have to work hard for your money, you learn the true colors of people, and so much more. ok ok, im done with my rant on waitressing promise!

These jobs have molded who I am today. I want Hudson to know nothing in life is free or easy, you have to work to have nice things and provide for you self. I think having a great work ethic is so important.

so, this is something I have to remind myself when I think about leaving Hudson every day...seven days a week!....it breaks my heart. But im able to provide for my family and that is something Im truly grateful for!















also, I saw this on good old faceboo. I thought it fit well with my theme today. I believe this is written fairly recently about the economic woes in America and wall street. I hope Hudson his this work ethic one day!
