34 week bump date

How far along? 34 weeks 4 days
Baby's size? Had my 34 week apt. on Monday. Doctor said he is gonna big a big boy like hudson and is pretty sure he weighs at least if not over 5lbs already!! Fruit size is a cantaloupe.
Total weight gain: up 26 lbs! yikes....not that thats a bad thing. Im still very comfortable with that number but I gained 10lbs in a little over 3 weeks.
Maternity clothes? Yes ma'm
Sleep: same...not much of it lol. the acid reflux has been pretty bad. and just getting bigger and bigger makes it hard to move around
Best moment(s) this past week: halloween was fabulous, and we got our maternity/family pics done :)
Miss Anything? Just the normal breathing, being comfortable.
Movement:  lots of rolling around, and stretching. They can be kinda painful sometimes! I finally felt some hiccups last week. Only a couple times since, which is weird because Hudson had them ALL the time when I was pregnant with him.
Anything making you queasy or sick: nope. :) glad that is all gone.
Cravings: Cereal still, and anything pumpkin sounds amazing.
Labor Signs: nope
Gender: little man
Symptoms:  braxton hicks every day, and acid reflux are the big ones.
Belly Button in or out? its basically all an outie lol
Wedding rings on or off? off
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy and emotional.
Looking forward to:  thanksgiving. im sad I wont beable to stuff my face full...but i cant wait for pumpkin pie and scones!
How is Hudson doing?: still being awesome! We finally got rid of his toddler bed and got him a twin bed. He has been really good with the transition. and talks/asks about porter every day :)

this was 33w4d

this was 34weeks exactly
I had never actually shot a real gun before. But I've been having weird dreams lately with people breaking into our house. So Tanner took my out to learn to shoot so I'm more comfortable. I was quite the sight! haha

28 week bump date

Holy cow its October 1st!! I cant believe it. This year is flying by and little man will be here in December. Im so excited, yet have SO much to do. We really haven't done much to get ready for this little guy. I finally decided that we would turn the spare bedroom into a playroom and have to boys share a room. Im not really sure what made me decide this way. But part of the reason is decorating ;) I found the most adorable saying on Pinterest  "sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero". It fits so cute, and I want to do a very subtle superhero theme in their room. The room already is blue with a red and white stripe along the top, so the colors match. We are also getting tanners old bunk beds from when he was a kid and painting them the same red as the stripe. We are also painting the crib the same color. I think it will turn out cute. Porter will spend the first few months in our room anyways. Then they will start to share. Im so excited for them to grow up with each other.

How far along? 28 weeks 2 day
Baby's size? the size of an iceberg lettuce
Total weight gain: after my doctor appointment last week im up a total of 16lbs from pre-pregnancy
Maternity clothes? Yes ma'm
Sleep: is rough. Not gonna lie. Still getting up to pee, hard to fall asleep with heartburn. And im tossing all night because my hips start to hurt or my arms go numb or I cant breath well. only 12 more weeks!
Best moment(s) this past week: Im pretty sure I passed my glucose test!! YAY. Doctor said the results would be in Monday and I would only hear from them if they needed to do the 3 hour test. I never heard anything so no news is good news.
Miss Anything? Just the normal breathing, not being uncomfortable.
Movement:  he is moving more and more. And starting to move during the day more. I love it
Anything making you queasy or sick: nope, just still hate the look of meat.
Cravings: Cereal.
Labor Signs: nope
Gender: little man
Symptoms:  other then those mentioned still getting braxton hicks every day. and I think the first trimester fatigue is back. I have been so tired lately I could take a nap an hour after I wake up! Im pretty sure it has to do with my lousy sleep as well.
Belly Button in or out? this crazy belly button of mine! It literally looks like the baby is only on the top half of my stomach and there is nothing in the bottom half lol. But its both, whenever I have a braxton hick, or porter pushes himself in the middle of my stomach then the whole thing pops out. Its weird!
Wedding rings on or off? off
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy and emotional.
Looking forward to:  Halloween! Im so excited for fall and and the holidays. We think we will be making Hudson's halloween costume this year so we gotta get on that.
How is Hudson doing?: Even though I know he doesn't "get" it yet, I feel like he almost understands sometimes. He is so sweet with my belly, he tells everyone about Porter. He tells us all the toys he is going to share, and what animals he wants to show Porter how to be. He says when Porter crys he will say " its alright baby don't cry" lol I know things will surely be different once Porter is actually here. But its still so cute!

25 weeks bump date

How far along? 25 weeks 3 days
Baby's size? a zucchini
Total weight gain: I was at the doctor last week and am officially up 11lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight.
Maternity clothes? Yes :)
Sleep: Its been ok. I have had HORRIBLE heartburn lately. So its hard to fall asleep some nights. and I still get up 3+ times a night to go pee.
Best moment(s) this past week: Baby is moving A LOT! Were finally feeling movement during the day. Its still most often at night. But you can see my belly move sometimes. And yesterday little guy moved non-stop for like an hour. I think he may have had the hiccups
Miss Anything? breathing. UGH! its been sucky, I cant wait to feel like I can take a deep breath again.
Movement: yes! and doctor says to start 'kick counting' everyday too.
Anything making you queasy or sick: thankfully no. I think were finally over the gaggy/throw up stage lol. I still don't like meat though. I would rather eat some cereal ;)
Cravings: Hot chocolate & taco bell.
Labor Signs: nope
Gender: little man
Symptoms:  Heartburn has been a biggie this last few weeks. Same with lots of random back pains, and feet falling asleep. Trying to get a big breath is harder too.
Belly Button in or out? half. its so weird. The top half is like pointing out and you can see it through some of my shirts, but the bottom half is still an innie and goes in a good amount. But my stomach isn't completely round this time. I kinda hate it. Its like below my belly button its a straight line going diagonally instead of rounded. lol
Wedding rings on or off? off :(
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, but I know I have my moody moments for sure.
Looking forward to: Fall! Ive never loved summer (too hot for me!) but being pregnant makes it that much worse. So im excited for the weather to start getting cooler. Also, my next appointment is the end of this month and its my glucose test. Not really excited about that, but excited that after that I start going to the doctors every 2 weeks!!! crazy.
How is Hudson doing?: He is doing great! He talks about Porter all the time. I swear he tells everyone we meet that"theres a baby in mommys belly, his name is POOOOORRRTER" Its so cute. we have slowly been getting some of the old baby stuff out to wash and get ready. Hudson always says that he is going to let porter use his toys.

23 week bumpdate

23 weeks!! somewhere in the 5th month (depending who you ask lol). Every day I feel like the pregnancy is taking f.o.r.e.v.e.r. but then each week it feels like its flying by. Funny how pregnancy works like that.

How far along? 23 weeks and 1 day
Baby's size? a grapefruit
Total weight gain: not sure, but that last week or so I can not get full and feel like I'm eating constantly. I have my next appt. on Friday and Im sure I will have gained enough to make up for barely gaining anything the first half of the pregnancy :(
Maternity clothes? oh yes...and Im totally ok with it.
Best moment(s) this past week: My birthday last week, and taking Hudson to daybreak lake over the weekend.
Miss Anything? energy still. While I do have moments where I have some energy for the most part I could probably lay down all day and be totally ok with it ;)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Meat. hamburgers still. I can eat meat as long as its on/in something. But I cant just have like a piece of chicken or something.
Cravings: Cereal.
Labor Signs: nope
Gender: little man
Symptoms:  Things have been better lately :) ....knock on wood....but I haven't had very much cramping/pressure/braxton hicks. I haven't thrown up in a couple weeks. Its been nice! But I'm starting to get heartburn. Here and there through out the day and once I lay down in bed its horrible! Thank goodness for tums.
Belly Button in or out? in-between. Already!
Wedding rings on or off? off. :( I can wear it for a minute, but my fingers start to swell really bad.
Happy or Moody most of the time: mostly happy. But have my moody moment. still. lol
Looking forward to: Fall. I get to hot as it is, so being preggers in 95+ degree weather sucks. Im ready for boots and sweaters
How is Hudson doing?: still being the best big brother ever :) He still asks about Porter alot. He usually names his toys Porter too. Its cute!

23 weeks! and feeling huge

My birthday :)

all dressed up for our friends wedding

Little man has a name :)

Naming children is hard work!
With Hudson we had finally narrowed down a list of about 3 names and didn't name him till after he was born. With this one I wanted to name him before he was born. I just wanted a different experience this time around. See how it is calling the baby by his name, and getting things personalized before hand, etc. But I also wanted to just know that that was the name.
I had a good list going of names I really liked, Tanner on the other hand hated/disliked every stinking name I told him. And I probably told him hundreds. Some I really didn't like but I just wanted him to like a name lol. Well he finally "liked" about three names. He didn't love any, but liked them. So we thought about them for a few days and then it just hit me one day what the name was. I just knew that that was the name. I couldn't explain it. And it was funny, because it wasn't my favorite name of my list it just fit. If that makes any sense. I told Tanner and he just laughed at me and would say..."oh really" but he agrees with me now that this is the name. I really wasn't sure if we wanted to tell people or not, I kinda like having the surprise at birth. But, I wanted to do things different this time so I figured why not? Just know, this is his name and your opinions are invalid ;)
Now, I know your thinking this has got to be one hell of a name if I'm making such a big deal...but its not. It is no where near as awesome as North West (look up kim kardashian if you don't know that glorious story) I just wanted to remember the naming process for our family blog books. The only thing we haven't decided on is a middle name. I do want it to be a family name though, so I'm letting Tanner pick...I just have to agree. So....our sweet soon to be baby boy number two will be named

PORTER

Hudson & Porter...cute right??

Bumpdate 14 weeks

Hello 2nd trimester!

How far along? 14 weeks
Baby's size? A lemon!! that just seems so big to me
Total weight gain: Nothing...still. I lost 5lbs then gained it back and now I'm just sitting at my pre prego weight still. No complaints...last time I gained 52lbs.....ugh!! so lets not do that again.
Maternity clothes? Yes. haha...I love my maternity jeans a little to much. Even though I have no weight gain, things have definitely shifted and my pants are getting snug.
Sleep: Its the same. I still get up to pee a couple times.
Best moment(s) this past week: The color me rad race last Saturday. I went with my mom and sister and brought Hudson. SO much fun.
Miss Anything? Just feeling normal. Im still dizzy, and headachy, and no energy. My nose is swollen too :(
Movement: No...Sometimes when Im laying down in bed I think I feel some light flutters. But nothing "for sure" yet.
Anything making you queasy or sick: yes. everything it seems like lol. Meat isn't a big turn on, cooking eggs still, just random things. The smell of the garbage.
Cravings: I haven't had any this week actually...nothing I had to have anyways. I always want chocolate milk though.
Labor Signs: nope.
Gender: No clue, and I have no feelings as to whether they are a boy or a girl....we find out in 9 days though!
Symptoms:  Tired, queasy, dizzy, headaches, peeing, tender booobs...lol the whole shabang.
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? on.
Happy or Moody most of the time: both, I have noticed myself being a little snappy sometimes. I hate it.
Looking forward to:  finding out the gender!
How is Hudson doing?: He is so excited. He always asks about the baby. Some days he says he wants a sister, other days he wants a brother. When we ask him what we should name it, its usually firetruck, or dump truck, or dinosaur ;)

I spy with my little eye...a baby bump!
I think ill be enlisting Tanners help for the next pics.

Twelve and Thirteen months old!

So I know Hudson is officially 13 months old now [how did this happen!?!] But its been a crazy couple of months and I haven't gotten around to his 12 month post yet. We finally had his one year check up yesterday so I thought it was about time, So this will be 12/13 month stats!

Hudson, you are officially a toddler now! As much as I miss my baby, I am LOVING this stage. I cant believe its a been a whole year since you came into our lives. When you were born we had a couple scares, and you had to spend a week in the NICU but looking at you today you would never have guessed it. You are a crazy ball of energy that just never sits still!

As of 12 months you have 4 teeth, 2 on top 2 on bottom. At 13 months the two on either side of your top teeth are almost popping through.

You weight exactly 21 lbs (15%) and you are 31 inches long! Mr Tall and Skinny. Basketball player in our future?!?

The doctor says he would like to see you gain some weight. He isn't to worried, but since you never stop moving & your constantly burning those calories he would like to get a little more meat on your bones. It will be a little hard because your a picky eater! The first 4 bites of anything I feed you you do great, then you loose interest and just keep signing 'all done' and making your ewww face [you stick your tongue out and shake your head]. We will be working on this, and getting you some pediasure.

Speaking of food, you will eat pretty much anything. You love toast, its your favorite. You have also eaten/like to eat mac-n-cheese, eggs, chicken nuggets, peanut butter and jelly sandwich, spaghetti [pretty much just any noodle and sauce], applesauce, oatmeal, carrots and pretty much anything we give you bites of. You have texture issues, but were working on more finger foods. Right now I give you lots of the fruit/veggie squeeze pouch thingees to make sure you eating more fruit and veggies. These are life savors at the store.

The doctor also wants us to give you an inhaler. If you run around too much [which is all the time] or laugh really hard you start coughing. It isn't really bad, and you don't wake up in the middle of the night or anything so the doctor says that is a good sign and it means it hopefully isn't asthma. But he feels your lungs are just a little weaker so hopefully this inhaler will help. It worries me, but lets hope you just grow out of it!

You can now run, really fast I might add. You also love to 'stomp'. When we tell you to stomp you get your little legs going sooo fast and just start laughing. You try to jump, its more like just bending your knees :D And you are a dance-a-holic. You can turn on the radio and you just dance away.

You are talking up a storm!! All the words you can say:
dada, mama, dog, baba, bye bye, toast [sounds like toe], Jaida [day-duh] & eat [eeee]

The signs your using well are:
more [especially if you get a bite of something sweet], all done, eat, and sometimes mom
You have the best laugh, and are soooo ticklish. You also fake laugh, its a hoot.

Your getting better and better at climbing down/up stairs. It still makes me nervous every single time!

You love all your cars. You make little driving noises [sounds kinda like your blowing a raspberries bbppbppbp, the sound most boys make haha]. You will also "drive" anything [like a steering wheel] and honk the horn.

Your better at sleeping, we were teething and getting up a couple times but the last few nights you have slept all threw the night. Lets keep up with this ;). Now that we have our house you finally have your own bedroom. I'm not sure how I am going to feel about this once it's all set up.

You get along great with other kids. You are not shy one bit, you always walk right up to them and grab their face and give them a big ol' kiss.

You are such a mamas boy. I love it so much. Especially when I pick you up from work and you run up to me with your arms help up saying "mama mama mama"

We ask you "how big is Hudson?" and you throw your hands up, sooo big!

You are still in a size 3 diaper. Transitioning from a 4 to a 5 in shoes, and 12 month clothes. 18 month jammies.
You had your very first ear infection the day after your first birthday :(
Your still in love with your cousin Ella Mae. I am sad that now that we moved out we don't see her as much, but you two are a riot when you get together.

Hudson, I can't believe you have been in our lives 22 months already!!! And been physically with us for 13 months. I can't picture life without you and can barely remember what it was like before you were born. You are my everything little man!!! Love you more then you will ever know!

From this precious baby

To this little man in one super short, amazing year!

Happy 10 months little man

Happy 10 months to this little man.
So, im really behind on this post. He turned 10 months on Thanksgiving (11/24/11)
But, I took this pics only 1 week late so that's good right?
So, my mom is all ready for Christmas, and Hudson loves the tree/presents so I thought this would keep him entertained for pics. Not really. Most are blury or of his but as he walkes away.

Hudson, you are just growing way way way to fast! At ten months you:

-Weigh around 19/20 pounds and around 29/30 inches long! (home measurements)
-You are in mostly 12 month clothes. Some 9-12 month still fit. 12-18 month jammies. Size 3 diapers. And between a size 3 & 4 in toddler/baby shoes
-You still get up at least once a night. and cat nap. But with daddy on the weekends you nap for an hour. whats up with this mister?
-You are walking and running all over the place! Its so cute to see you move around. You like to squat to pick things up, or look in places you can't see. I don't know why but I find this adorable.
-You carry everything. It doesn't matter how big, awkward, tall or heavy you try and most of the time succeed at picking it up.
-Were getting better with finger/thicker foods. You have eaten Puffs, bread, banana, eggs (you love eggs!), noodles, cheese, olives, avocado, stuffing & some more I just cant think of them all
-You are on regular similac formula. You drink roughly 6-7 oz ever 4ish hours
-You can now throw balls. Its so cute!!
-You can shake your head when we say "no no no no no"
-You now clap the right way. Its kinda sad, but still adorable
-Starting on 12/4/11 whenever we say 'dance' you spin in circles till you fall over
-On your official 10 month birthday you still had no teeth! But on 12/1/11 you FINALLY cut your bottom right tooth. Then on 12/2/11 your left one cut through.
-You absolutely love dogs! Its your new word. You call them "dah". You follow greeley around the house pointing at him and say "dah dah dah"
-You are starting to give real good hugs! You wrap your arms around my neck and it melts my heart!
-You blow kisses & wave bye bye & hello & can point
- You 'talk' all the time. Its so cute that you just babble and babble and I laugh at how cute you are
-You are the biggest flirt ever. When we go shopping tons of people stop to say how cute you are.

Hudson, I can not believe I have a ten month old son! When did this happen? Pregnancy feels like forever. But these last 10 months have gone in the blink of an eye. I try so hard to hold on to each moment, and each stage. Which is so hard with you since you are an over achiever and before I know it you are starting to do something new. Always remember you mean the world to me & I would do anything for you. I love you more then you will ever know!

Love you Huddy Buddy
Mommy & Daddy

some pics of your 10 month 'photo shoot'

You weren't very happy to have your hat on!
You also have a fascination with toilets. gross.
Reminds me, I need to get locks for those!

Over the Weekend

So I know I promised my DIY holiday craft...but smart me came to my moms this evening while Tanner is at work, and I left my camera at home :( between hauling my purse and diaper bag I always seem to forget that. But tomorrow for sure it will get posted.

Instead though, I thought I would share our weekend in pictures from my phone

We started off the weekend with band practice

We have a little drummer on our hands.
He loves when his daddy plays guitar.
 Mommys little monster.
So, if you watch Jersey shore this saying should mean something to you. Its t-shirt time. But we call it bib time. If your like my mom and have no idea what Jersey shore is, its just a bib with a stupid quote.
We had fun at pet smart. He would walk up and down the window pointing and saying "dah...dah...dah" which is Hudson code for dog. so cute.
I decided to be extra christmas-y and got my toes done. I couldn't pick a color haha
Little stink grabbed my sprite and ran.
We got to spend last night at daddys work. So a little fun trivia....at least the 12 year old inside me is screaming....Backstreet boys recorded their black and blue album at Tanners work. So I made it a point to go in the same studio as them! How dorky is that? That's not even the coolest thing at his work..but its the next best thing to meeting them right?
Just watching daddy...and running everywhere
We got to spend time with the cousin.
And technically this was a week ago..but that is one of my best friends bethany from Through the Window Photography (that took our family pics!). Ignore her face...its hard to get a serious picture of her. We all went out to Z'tejas to celebrate her day of birth. I love this lady.

How was your weekend?

DIY baby food

If you don't make at least some of your baby food, you should! It is way easy, saves a lot of money, and is healthier for your little one.

I wasn't going to make my own, I had never even thought about it. Then I cam across this book.

This book is awesome! Not only does it show you exactly how to make tons of baby food purees, it also gives you all the nutritional facts for each one. It also has recipes up until your child is a toddler. Honestly some of these I am dying to try and would make great family meals, or lunches for older kids.

Today I made some Apples for Hudson. But pretty much any food is the same, cook till its soft, puree, freeze, defrost feed. But this book gives you in depth instructions for tons and tons of food.

Step 1
Wash and rinse your apples

 Step 2
Cut apples into quarters and cut out seeds
 Step 3
Place apples cut side down on a microwave safe plate and microwave till soft. Usually takes me 5-6 min for 5 apples.
*careful they will be hot, you will want to let cool
 Step 4
Peel off the skin (sometimes it will peel right off, others I use a knife) and place in blender/food processor/baby food maker whatever it may be. I personally love the blender.
 Step 5
Blend to desired consistency
 Step 6
Poor into ice cube tray and freeze over night. After frozen I place in a freezer ziploc bag and label it with the name of food and the date they were made.
Step 7
When your ready to feed, pop a few ice cubes in a microwave safe dish (it makes it really easy to creat your own combos. Hudson's fave is carrots and peaches) and melt. It may be hot, so let cool or you can add some baby cereal with either juice/formula/breast milk to cool and thicken. If you don't like to microwave you could also put in the fridge the day before for it to un freeze, or steam using a baby bottle warmer.

Step 8
enjoy!

I'm so glad I decided to make my own baby food! I still do use jarred food, especially if were going to be out and it's just more convenient. But knowing exactly whats in your babies food makes you feel so much better about what your feeding them!

Happy baby food making! :D What were/are some of your babies favorite foods?
