20 week bumpdate

We are officially at the half way mark. Such a great feeling, I can almost start the count down ;) almost.
Last week was the anatomy scan (at 19 1/2 weeks). I was so nervous going in, I think every mom is. But everything looks GREAT!! Our ultrasound technician was amazing. She explained everything to us, told us some of the technical terms which was interesting. Hudson came with us, and she was so sweet with him. He loved hearing the heartbeat so she let him listen 3 times & gave him his own special picture of baby Porter. Little man came in weighing 12 oz. Almost a whole pound!! I sometimes still think of him as a tiny grape in their. Im starting to feel him almost every day. It still make me nervous because its not very often, and usually only at night. They are the lightest little movements to so I really have to be paying attention. Sometimes though when I'm laying down Tanner will feel my belly and we can see where he is laying. I loved doing that with hudson, and excited to get to do it all again.

How far along? 20 weeks 2 days
Baby's size? a banana
Total weight gain: last week at the anatomy scan I was up 3 lbs. Which puts me 2 lbs above pre-prego weight. Doctor isn't concerned at all...and Im hoping to keep the total weight gain around 30 ish lbs or so. fingers crossed. (you may remember me mentioning last time I gained 51lbs..so 30lbs sounds amazing lol)
Maternity clothes? Yes :) some normal clothes still fit. Thankfully my summer shorts still fit, I didn't want to waste any money shorts since ill be pregnant most of the fall/winter.
Best moment(s) this past week: the anatomy scan. little man looks great!
Miss Anything? energy. Im slowly getting more energy, but I feel bad for mister Hudson that I can't take him on as many walks or park trips since im tired and can't handle the heat well.
Movement: usually 1-2 times a day.
Anything making you queasy or sick: just the though of a hamburger. gross.
Cravings: Ice cream.
Labor Signs: nope
Gender: little man
Symptoms:  things have actually been pretty good this week :) a few aches/pains and headaches. But for the most part im feeling a lot better. My mom took me to see dr stockwell and I know that helped a ton.
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? off. :( I can wear it for a minute, but my fingers start to swell really bad.
Happy or Moody most of the time: mostly happy. But have my moody moment.s
Looking forward to: my birthday on the 17th :)
How is Hudson doing?:still doing great. he talks about Porter every day. The other day we took Hudson to the aquarium and surprised him. We wouldn't tell him where we were going. When we asked where he though he said "to meet baby porter" it was adorable. Thankfully though, he was ok that we weren't meeting him yet. He was stoked for the aquarium.

Bumpdate 19 weeks

19 weeks!! soo happy to be here :) while it feels like just yesterday we found out, it also feels like I still have forever to go. Im almost half way there though, and since I've already had one nasty visit to the ER it is nice that I'm finally 19 weeks. This means if god forbid, we have any other stuff happen that needs to be checked out we get to go to labor and delivery not the ER! Crazy the things that make you happy when your pregnant.

How far along? 19 weeks 1 day
Baby's size? a mango
Total weight gain: Not sure, weighed myself at home and I think im actually up a couple pounds finally. But we have an apt. on Wed. and I will check there.
Maternity clothes? Yes :) my awesome mom took me out and got a few new maternity clothes for me. When I was prego with Hudson I worked at a bank so the few maternity things I have are far to fancy, or  "business attire", to wear around the house and to run errands.
Sleep: same..just getting up to pee a few times.
Best moment(s) this past week: FINALLY FEELING THE BABY MOVE! (sunday july 21) It was really, really low though. With all the stuff Im feeling im pretty sure your just waiting to fall out kid. haha. Its sparatic still. and I didn't feel anything again for a few days. It kinda freaks me out. Cant you just move around every day? that would be nice.
Miss Anything? Normalcy. lol
Movement: see above.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Hamburgers! ugh...just the thought makes me sick.
Cravings: Ice cream and mexican food.
Labor Signs: nope
Gender: little man
Symptoms:  thankfully the throwing up in the morning seems to be going away. I'm gaining some energy again :) I have been in a cleaning mood. While my house thanks me I know I still need to be taking it easy. My cramps/pressure/back pain is still there and gets worse the more I  move around/lift things. So Im trying to just take it as easy as I can so I don't get put on bed rest!!
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? on.
Happy or Moody most of the time: mostly happy. But have my moody moment.s
Looking forward to:  our anatomy scan on July 31st!!
How is Hudson doing?: still loving the thought of being a big brother. He talks about Porter every day. The other morning he woke up with an eyelash on his cheek. I had him blow it off my finger to make a wish. When I asked him what he wished for he said "my baby brother" awwww LOVE THAT KID!!!

none of these pics are consistent and its starting to bother me haha

Little man has a name :)

Naming children is hard work!
With Hudson we had finally narrowed down a list of about 3 names and didn't name him till after he was born. With this one I wanted to name him before he was born. I just wanted a different experience this time around. See how it is calling the baby by his name, and getting things personalized before hand, etc. But I also wanted to just know that that was the name.
I had a good list going of names I really liked, Tanner on the other hand hated/disliked every stinking name I told him. And I probably told him hundreds. Some I really didn't like but I just wanted him to like a name lol. Well he finally "liked" about three names. He didn't love any, but liked them. So we thought about them for a few days and then it just hit me one day what the name was. I just knew that that was the name. I couldn't explain it. And it was funny, because it wasn't my favorite name of my list it just fit. If that makes any sense. I told Tanner and he just laughed at me and would say..."oh really" but he agrees with me now that this is the name. I really wasn't sure if we wanted to tell people or not, I kinda like having the surprise at birth. But, I wanted to do things different this time so I figured why not? Just know, this is his name and your opinions are invalid ;)
Now, I know your thinking this has got to be one hell of a name if I'm making such a big deal...but its not. It is no where near as awesome as North West (look up kim kardashian if you don't know that glorious story) I just wanted to remember the naming process for our family blog books. The only thing we haven't decided on is a middle name. I do want it to be a family name though, so I'm letting Tanner pick...I just have to agree. So....our sweet soon to be baby boy number two will be named

PORTER

Hudson & Porter...cute right??

16 weeks....ER trip

Oh the joys of pregnancy :/
we got to spend last night in the wonderful E.R.

Over the weekend I had really bad cramps and super low pressure. I was a little freaked so I called the on call doctor. She was nice, she was pretty sure it was round ligament pain (which is new to me! and I thought it was more of a shooting pain). She said it was very common in your 2nd and on pregnancies and usually shows up in the second trimester. She said to take a warm bath, rest, take tylenol for pain (which it wasn't painful). I did all of that and nothing seemed to help. Monday night around 930/10 It was pretty intense pressure on my pelvic bones. It was soar and kinda felt like the after math of someone kicking you in the crotch. So not painful really, just soar and pressure. I wanted to just fall asleep and forget all about it. But, being pregnant I swear your just aware of every teeny tiny sensation your body has and you always fear the worst. So I called the on call doc again. Frankly I was just looking for reassurance...just telling me that its round ligament pain and that it can feel like pressure/soar not just pains. The on call doctor this night was not my normal OB, it was the other male doctor and he was kind of a jerk. Maybe it was my hormones and the fact that it was 10 at night and he is probably sick of stupid pregnant moms freaking out and calling him. I tried explaining it and he said to just go into the ER and get checked. I asked if he was sure, and do I go to ER or maternity ward. Apparently you have to be at least 19 weeks to go to the Maternity Ward. He just said, if its worrying you enough to call me at 10 at night, just go in.

So I immediately started bawling. Freaking out. My parents just bought us a crib and I had been going through Hudson's old baby clothes earlier that day. I felt like I had jinxed myself. I went downstairs to tell Tanner. He was obviously pretty nervous as well. We had our amazing wonderful neighbors come over and give me a priesthood blessing. This was my first time ever having a blessing and it was so nice. It made me calm. I know it helped with making sure the baby was safe and sound as well. They are seriously amazing neighbors. One was sleeping and the other was playing call of duty and both dropped everything/woke up just to come give us a blessing. We lucked out with our neighbors.
After that we dropped Hudson off at my moms and drove to the ER. I was nervous because normally I hate ERs and they have a bad rap for just not being nice. We were lucky though, the lady that checked us in was really nice and helped in explaining what I was feeling. It was nice that she was reassuring. She walked us right back to a room. I had to get into the lovely gowns and leave a urine sample. The doctor came and we talked about everything. They took the urine sample and the blood sample to look for infections. He also said they were giving me an IV incase I was dehydrated which could contribute to the cramps. I would also be getting an ultrasound then once they had all the results he would come back. The nurse came in and drew my blood and got the IV started. I seriously HATE IVs!! The only other one I had was when I was in labor and while I remember not liking it I wasn't paying much attention. A few minutes after the IV was in my whole arm went tingly and numb. It was like a cold burn and hurt! I asked Tanner if it was normal. He said he had never had an IV so he didn't know. So I of course called my nurse in and asked him. I felt kinda silly but I just wanted to know if that feeling was normal. He checked and the IV was in proper place it wasn't pooling up in my arm. He just said the IVs are room temperature which is cooler then body temperature so it is cold and the veins contract to warm it up. Normal or not it still sucked and I couldn't bend my arm.  After waiting a little while the ultrasound tech came in. She was SO nice. They wheeled my bed down to the ultra sound room. That was awesome. I have always been told that ERs don't usually let you see the baby, they never print out pictures and they cant really tell you anything because people would abuse the ER just to try to find out the sex of the baby. Well..not true here! She was so nice and commenting on the babies cute butt in the air, and how active he was. It was SUCH a relief seeing his little heart beat. I was seriously shaking before the ultrasound started. They took all kinda of measurements and checked all the goods inside me. It was a long ultrasound. She couldn't really say anything about the measurements or anything though. She did print us like 4 pictures though. And after we were all done, she said things look really good and then said she was gonna look in one more time because she wanted to get us a cuter picture :)  soo nice!! We got wheeled back into the room and waited for like 45 min to an hour. Finally the doctor came back in apologizing. He had been sitting at his computer just waiting for the results of the u/s. He said normally a little light goes off letting him know. It never went off so he called down and they said they had been done for a while. He felt bad, but computer glitches happen I guess. He said baby looked good, but it did look like I have a UTI. So he gave me antibiotics for that. He still wasn't sure what was causing the pressure/cramps but everything was normal and nothing really wrong so he was thinking just a mixture of the uti and some round ligament pain/uterus stretching. I also had kinda high blood pressure when I first came in, they were a little worried about pre-eclampsia but there wasn't protein in my urine so they took my blood pressure again before I could be discharged to make sure it had gone down. Thankfully it did! the nurse said he was pretty sure EVERYONES blood pressure raises the second they walk into the ER. I don't blame him. I was a shaking crying nervous wreck. I called my doctor today and let them know what happened and to see if they wanted me to come in for a follow up or wait 3 weeks till the next appointment. I haven't heard anything back yet, but I'm still having the pressure and soreness...grrrr! Im just glad everything looked normal though.

I seriously have the best husband ever to hang out till 2am in the ER and not get mad when its just a REALLY expensive uti ;) and an IV. Better safe then sorry though, and UTIs can get dangerous during pregnancy, so I think its justified Were both just so glad little man is safe and well. He needs to keep cooking for another 23 weeks!

We are having a .....

Today I'm 15 weeks and 4 days. And feeling ok, pregnancy wise not bad. But I have had a sinus infection and nasty cold this past week that I'm hopefully finally getting over.

In other news we found out the gender of our sweet baby!

were having another sweet, loving, wild, rambunctious, rough little boy!
Ill be honest, I kinda thought girl because of how different these two pregnancies have been! But at our ultra sound little man was turned down and had his legs curled up. So the ultra sound tech said lets try to see if we can see between the legs. Before I had a chance to really look at the screen she goes "well thats pretty obvious right there" which can only mean one thing. BOY! Hubby is way happy, and I think our bank account is thanking us as well ;)
There are a few things we will need for this little one. Crib, diapers, the essential little items like bottles/binks, soap, lotion etc. We also will need a baby monitor since with Hudson we all shared a room while living with our in laws we didn't have one. Other then that we have pretty much everything which is so nice! I will for sure be wanting some new clothes, but the majority will just be hand me downs. Now we just have to decide on a name ;) I think we might have one...but Tanner is still debating.

How far along? 15 weeks
Baby's size? An apple.
Total weight gain: Nothing...still. We had an appointment on the third and the nurse came up to me "you haven't gained any weight, are you eating ok?" umm..yes im pretty sure I eat like a pig too. I have like 4 bowls of cereal a day and always wanting ice cream ;) so not super healthy either. The doctor is not worried. He says all he cares about is the uterus is growing, heat beat is strong and im keeping food/water down.
Maternity clothes? Yes. still just my pants. If it was cool enough to wear pants that is.
Best moment(s) this past week: Finding out the gender, our anniversary & 4th of July.
Miss Anything? Feeling normal still. Ive been sick, and swollen nose and headaches. It is all worth it though.
Movement: Nothing official yet. Still some cramping that always makes me nervous though.
Anything making you queasy or sick: the dishes! Especially if something got left in Tupperware in the back of the fridge. Garbage still makes me gag, and so do cracking eggs.
Cravings: Italian food this week!
Labor Signs: nope.
Gender: Boy :)
Symptoms:  same; tired, upset stomach, swollen nose, headaches, etc.
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? on.
Happy or Moody most of the time: both, still.
Looking forward to:  picking out a name.
How is Hudson doing?: He keeps talking about his new brother. Sometimes he still will say...no I want a sister. lol...he doesn't totally understand but if you ask him whats in moms belly he says. "a baby booooyyyyyeeee. my brother"

Anything making you queasy or sick: yes. everything it seems like lol. Meat isn't a big turn on, cooking eggs still, just random things. The smell of the garbage.
