36 week Bumpdate

How far along? 36 weeks 5 days
Baby's size? a coconut.
Total weight gain: 27 lbs. only gained alb in 2 weeks, definitely make up for the almost 10lbs up the previous 2 weeks.
Maternity clothes? Yes ma'm
Sleep: same, peeing lots, heartburn, ive had a nasty head cold for like 3 weeks that just wont go away :/
Best moment(s) this past week: thanksgiving :) I love getting to spend the day with family, and eat lots of pumpkin pie.
Miss Anything? Just the normal breathing, being comfortable.
Movement:  lots of kicking, and hiccups. When I have contractions he starts moving ALOT! I guess I would to if I was being squeezed like that.
Anything making you queasy or sick: nope. :) glad that is all gone.
Cravings: Cereal still, and anything pumpkin sounds amazing.
Labor Signs: yes, on November 19th I actually had to go into Labor and Delivery. I was having contractions ALL night and morning, & they were getting pretty dang painful. They were coming about every 10 min apart consistently. I called the nurse and she said to do the normal take a warm bath, tylenol, relax, etc. and see if they go away. she said if they didn't go away and I was having 6+ an hour to go in and get checked. I did everything and they were still consistently about 7-10 min apart. and getting stronger and stronger. I knew it wasn't labor labor, but it had been ALL day and they weren't letting up. I was nervous because I was only 35 weeks...so still a little to early for my comfort. I told Tanner we should probably go in and get checked, and that he couldn't get mad when I got sent home because I knew I would get sent home. I was having contractions still consistently, and after a couple hours of monitoring (Im 1cm dilated and 50% effaced by the way) the on call doctor ended up giving me a shot of some medicine to stop contractions (called tribe-something or other). That shot was HORRIBLE!! seriously I never want to have to have that ever again. It slowed down the contractions a little, but it made my heart race and I got really shaky and I just did NOT feel good. Basically gave me a panic attack. They sent me home. At my doc appointment a few days later Im still 1cm & 50% so no further progress. but Im still getting contraction a lot. Now that im past the 36 week mark though, if I for whatever reason go into actual labor they won't stop it. So I can wait till they are 5 ish minutes apart and very painful before going in. We did schedule my induction date for Monday Dec. 16th at 6:30 am.  So if he doesn't come on his own, he will be here by then!! just a little over 2 weeks away! EEEK!
Gender: little man
Symptoms:  braxton hicks every day, and acid reflux are the big ones.
Belly Button in or out? its an outie lol
Wedding rings on or off? off
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy and emotional.
Looking forward to: Meeting our little man!
How is Hudson doing?: still being awesome! he loves to feel Porter kick. He gets so excited every time

I am thankful

I know, three posts in one week! I must be going crazy ;)

I love that in November we all can reflect and show how thankful we are for everything in our lives. Obviously it's something to think about all year long, but its fun to really focus on everything in November. Im no where near dedicated to do a daily thankful post, but after I saw shawna (@ girls just wanna have fun) do one posts with a list of all the things she is thankful for, I thought that would be something I could manage.

  • Im thankful for my husband. Im so happy that he chose to spend the rest of forever with me. He really does do everything to make us happy, and works so hard so I can stay home with Hudson. He lets me wake him up in the middle of the night when I have bad dreams, and helps me fall back asleep. He is the stronger one in our relationship and helps keep me grounded. He continues to teach me things, and teach me things about myself. I love that we are basically the same when it comes to our opinions and what we believe. We started dating young, and I always had that fear of growing up and growing apart, but we have grown together and closer then I could have ever imagined. We make a pretty dang good team!
  • Im thankful for my little man Hudson. This boy is my whole world! He made me a mom, and gave me the most important job Ill ever have. He makes me laugh and smile every day. He has taught me more then he will ever know about life, love, patience, understanding, how to have fun, and of course trucks! He has brought Tanner and I together in ways I never would have imagined. I was so unsure about being a "boy mom". I always had dreams of little girls. But now I know, I was meant to be a "boy mom" and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love watching him grow and learn, he is a little sponge. He makes our lives worth living.
  • I am thankful for mister Porter. I still cant believe I will have another child soon. I worry if ill love him enough. I think its normal for moms to feel that way. I love hudson so much, he literally has my whole heart how could I possibly love someone else? But I know I can, and I know I already do. The best advice Ive heard is that your love never decreases for your first, your heart only grows and loves twice as much. Even though we still haven't "met" Porter, he is still part of our family. We feel him kick and roll around every day. Just looking at Hudson and knowing in the blink of an eye Porter will be here and be that big just make me so happy. I love that Hudson will be a big brother, and that he will always have Porter to grow up with. I love my boys!
  • I am thankful that I can be pregnant. As much as I complain, and feel like crap I truly am thankful to be able to carry and birth my babies! Its a privilege that so many don't get, or have difficulties with. It is a wonderful gift from god to be able to create life. The whole process still amazes me. Its hard to believe there is an actual human being inside me right now! Its so amazing, and I will be forever grateful.
  • I am thankful for my mommy! I love my mom so much. As I have grown up and become a mother myself, I feel I understand more. Being a parent just changes your whole perspective. We have become best friends, I probably spend more time at my moms now then I did when I was actually living their. She always has my back, and calms me down when I worry if Hudson is sick. She gives the best advice, always makes me laugh. It is very rare a day goes by that we don't talk. I love my momma and how much she has taught me.
  • I am thankful for my daddy! I would say I was totally a daddy's girl as a child. Im pretty sure I had him wrapped around my finger and could get whatever I wanted, and now Hudson has him wrapped around his finger ;) I love seeing my dad and Hudson interact. My dad had two daughters, but having a grandson I feel is such a blessing. They get excited about construction trucks and airplanes together.  My dad has taught me tons about life, and about being excepting. About having your own opinions and beliefs and owing them.
  • I am thankful for my cute little sister Jaida. Even though we fight like, well sisters, we still are the best of friends. Ill admit it hasn't been the easiest road. We are just about 12 years apart. So you can imagine the differences in our lives. I was going into my senior year the year she started kindergarten. And now Im a mom, and she is starting middle school. Sometimes I feel like her second mom, which I know she hates, but Its just the mother instinct in me. We still have so much fun together, talk about anything. She is the biggest help with Hudson. In fact, I'm pretty sure she is Hudson's favorite person ever! I love her with all my heart. She has taught me a ton about life as well. While we are so much alike in so many ways, we are also very different. I look forward to growing up more with her, and growing closer and closer. Even as she is entering the teenage years, I know ill still be her favorite ;)
  • I am thankful for doctors and modern medicine. Hudson has asthma, and it breaks my heart. I strongly dislike childhood asthma and the limitations it puts on my son. But, I have to be so thankful for his amazing pediatrician and modern medicine and inhalers that help him breath and help him live a more normal life. While were still working on that perfect medicine combo to help, he is doing better. I pray this is something he will grow out of, but until then Im thankful to have ways to help my little guy.
  • I am thankful for my in-law's and all the extended in law family I have gained since marrying Tanner. They have all taken me in as one of the family. They make me feel so welcome, and are some of the best people I have honestly ever met. Tanner has a rather LARGE family, and I love getting to know them all. Even though most live in Arizona, Im thankful we get to travel to Arizona and visit them all and that they let us stay with them in their homes :) My parent-in-laws are amazing. I know they would do anything for us. And my brothers & sisters in-law are just like family. I truly am blessed to call them my family.
  • I am thankful for the gospel, and the church of jesus christ of latter day saints. While Im still somewhat new to everything, and Im still learning, and working on a testimony, it has been such a blessing. We have met some of the most amazing people from our ward, some of which have become great friends. I am thankful for the missionaries and the amazing timing they have. They came to us in a great time of need, and I think its exactly what our family has needed. It has really been a strengthening tool in our relationship.

Well...thats it for today. But I plan on doing 1 or 2 more thankful posts this month :) I think its great to take time and really think about the things your thankful for and love in your life. It makes you happy and appreciative, even when your having lots of issues in your personal life.

Halloween 2013

I originally thought this halloween would be pretty low key. Tanner had to go out of town for a few days the weekend before Halloween, and I'm just a little to pregnant and uncomfortable. But as I am looking back, we sure had a busy & fun halloween!

First off, Hudson's costume! It turned out to be a big hit. Our cousin Sarah (I'm not sure how) but ran across a picture of little boy in a home made garbage truck costume and knowing how much Hudson LOVES garbage trucks (love may be an understatement) showed it to us and said we had to make it for him. Hudson wouldn't stop talking about it for like a month and a half. Ever since he saw that picture he was determined to be a garbage man. I thought it would be harder to make, and so we took Hudson to look at all the different costumes. Super heroes, firefighters, police man, ninja turtles, you name it! He didn't care. So a few days before Tanner left I told him he better get on making it because I needed it for that weekend. He ended up making a pretty darn good one! Its a bit more simple of a design, if you google children's garbage truck costumes some people get pretty dang creative with flashing lights and 'grabbers'. But Hudson loved it, and its still hanging around the house. We play with it every day.

as you can see, he even watches TV in his costume ;)
We took Hudson to Wheeler Farm before dad went out of town. We got to see lots of animals, lots of tractors, & feed the ducks. I didn't take really any pictures, but thought this was a cute one!

While Tanner was gone, we went with my parents and sister to a pumpkin patch. Last year we went to Cornbellys and they have SO much their, but it can be a little pricey. I was sad we didn't go this year, but Hudson had a cold on top of everything so we chose a pumpkin patch by my old work. Turned out to be great! They had a bunch of tractors for all the kids to sit on & they had a little mini corn maze that was totally free and just the right size for a toddler and pregnant momma ;)

Some pics from my moms phone.

My parents also took us to "the haunted Murray park". Its supposed to be family friendly, and a little spooky trail you walk down and then you get hot chocolate and a donut afterwards. Well...its a different set of high school kids that put it on each year. We looked at pics of the years previous and it looked great, this year was little more spooky then I was expecting lol. I was worried how Hudson would do, but he did great!! Just stared at all the spooky dressed up people hiding in the trees. They even jumped out and said boo...scared me a little!
right before we started walking through the trial
The day before halloween we did halloween story time at the library. We go to story time almost every week and Hudson loves it. He was a little bummed he couldn't wear his garbage truck costume though, it was just to big and hard to sit in. So thankfully last years pirate costume still fit :) They got to decorate a little pumpkin and glue it on a bag and then go trick or treating through the library too. It was lots of fun and most of his little friends came too.

We also did "trunk or treat" at my parents ward church. It was fun, everyone LOVED Hudson's costume it was a big hit! The candy goes in the front part of the truck, which was pretty genius if I do say so myself ;) Its so funny how men are automatically drawn to trucks. The moms loved his costume, but all the boys and dads would comment and say how they wish they had one of those as a kid (one guy said he wishes he had one now!) and they gave him extra candy for such a cool costume!

this was only like 20 minutes before we left...it got dark super fast!

kinda cold, but braved it for the candy :)

On Halloween we went to Daddy's work for a halloween lunch!
Dad made him a pretty sweet last minute costume halloween morning, I was kinda bummed I didn't get a homemade cardboard costume haha

My little garbage man & price is right contestant

That night we did a little trick or treating. We stopped by both grandparents, then went around my moms circle with my sister and to see all my old neighbors. Then around our circle. After that we came home and let Hudson pass out some candy and play with his garbage truck more and stuff his face with lots of candy lol

This is just a little comparison of me halloween 3 years ago. I was 29 weeks pregnant with Hudson, and then this year almost 33 weeks pregnant with Porter :) I searched high and low for that darn skeleton costume because I know I saved it. I never found it though :/

Here is a few more pics from halloween morning. How perfect that it landed on garbage day ;)

Today was garbage day again, and as per usual we were outside sitting on the porch waiting to wave to the garbage man. When the garbage man came, he got out and came to talk to us. He had some goodies for Hudson and said his costume made his week! He posted a pic on Facebook and got lots of comments, and the company even recognized him ( I also shared a picture the companies Facebook page and they shared it :) ) I never thought I would love a garbage company, but I'm very impressed with Waste Management and so glad we have Travis as our garbage man! He is seriously so nice!! ...and yes, we are now on a first name basis with our garbage man ;)

I can officially say being a boy mom has taught me SO much, and I wouldn't trade our garbage trucks and construction trucks for all the disney princesses in the world ;)

Hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween

p.s....dont forget to check out my last post, I posted our maternity pics :)
